 The No. 1 in tennis, Rafael Nadal will compete against the Serbian, Novak Djokovic in King Salaman Tennis Championship on the 22nd of December.

 The General Sports Authority announced that The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host King Salaman Tennis Championship on Saturday the 22nd of December 2018 in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. The winner of the French Open and No.1 according to the ATP, Rafael Nadal will compete against the winner of the US Open and Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic.

Hosting of this grand event in the Kingdom is one of a kind and a part of a series of events hosted by the General Sports Authority, under the supervision and directing of His Excellency Mr. Turki Al-Sheikh, who expressed his contentment to host a number of different sporting events all across the Saudi Arabia reassuring the ever-going search to host the well known international athletes in different types of sports in order to expand the perceptions of the Saudi youth and to spread the culture of those sports.

Rafael Nadal has held the first position in the ATP international ranking since June. Nadal won the French Open for the eleventh time, winning the highest amount of times in history of the game, whereas Novak Djokovic sprung back to the the 3rd position internationally after recovering from his injury and winning 2 Grand Slam tournaments out of 4 in 2018.

“I am very excited to partake in King Salman Tennis Championship, it will be my first time in Jeddah, I am looking forward to meet my fans in Saudi Arabia” commented Nadal. “ I am proud to be a part of spreading the tennis culture in Saudi Arabia and in the region. I am eager to play in front of my Saudi Arabian fans for the first time in my career” Said Djokovic expressing his excitement to meet tennis fans in the Kingdom.

The General Sports Authority has organized various sporting events such as King Salman Chess Championship, Race of Champions, Riyadh International Marathon,The Kingdom Championship of Baloot, WWE Greatest Royal Rumble, Extreme Sports International Festival, the Saudi Super Cup final in London, the Drone Racing League 2018 final, the Crown Prince Camel Festival which took place in Taif and the recently celebrated, The WBSS Super Series for the Muhammad Ali Trophy which took place in Jeddah.

The UEFA Team Was Successful In Winning The Championship Thanks To The Goal Scored By The Portuguese Star Cristiano Ronaldo In The 61St Minute, With A Large Crowd Of Over 62,235 Fans Witnessing The Goal.
